This time we are going to talk about how to install SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services integrated with SharePoint Server 2013.
The first thing we need to know is that with the new release of SharePoint 2013 Reporting Services became an application services so all the configuration related with Reporting Service will be done in the SharePoint central administration, that change the installation a little bit. Now let’s see how to make the installation.
First thing we need to launch the SQL Server 2012 installation Wizard (I’m assuming you already have a SharePoint Server 2013 installed and configured) and choose New SQL Server stand-alone installation.
Select perform a new installation of SQL Server 2012.
If you have the product key, you should to introduce it here.
Accept the license terms.
Select SQL Server Feature installation.
In Share Features, choose Reporting Services-SharePoint and Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint.
Now go to the central admin and then go to Manage Services Application, select new and select Reporting Services Service application, the form to configure the services application will be open.
Give a name to the services application, choose if you want to create a app pool o use an existing one.
Introduce the database information and the web application that will be associated with this services application.
The Reporting Services Service application will be created.
Now if you go to General application Settings in the central admin will be find a section to configure Reporting Services.
Now we can go to the site that will use Reporting Services a verified that the feature is enabled.
To upload or create a report we need to create a library and then add the content types associated with Reporting Services.
Once the content types are added to our library will be able to create a new report.
